Dr. Bhutani is the Director of Endoscopic Research and Development and tenured Professor at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. His major research interests pertain to gastrointestinal endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound. He has received many awards including Best Doctors in America and America's Top Gastroenterologists. He serves or has served on numerous national committees and is a past president of AAGIO. He has received multiple research and education grants during his career. The World Scientist Forum has awarded Dr. Bhutani the "Eminent Scientist of the Year 2008" International Award in the field of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy. He has published more than 125 original, peer reviewed scientific papers, invited editorials and reviews, 20 book chapters, and 14 letters to the editor. He is the author of a multimedia production on teaching endoscopic ultrasound. He has more than 150 scientific research presentations (with published abstracts) at national and international meetings to his credit. He has written or edited 5 books. He is a member of the editorial board or a guest editor for 15 scientific publications.
